Job Title : Purchase Manager Location: Kolkata, West Bengal Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Purchase Manager to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a diverse range of products for our supermarket chain, ensuring quality, competitive pricing, and timely availability. This position requires strong negotiation skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors. You will be involved in the entire procurement process, from initial vendor contact and sample acquisition to price negotiation and understanding packaging specifications. Responsibilities: * Vendor Identification and Communication: Identify potential vendors, initiate contact, and establish strong working relationships. Meticulously mark and organize samples for internal evaluation. * Packaging Assessment: Discuss and understand vendor packaging standards, including primary and master carton specifications, ensuring they meet our requirements for handling, storage, and presentation. * Price Negotiation and Agreement: Negotiate pricing and payment terms with vendors to achieve the best possible value for the company while maintaining quality standards. * Sample List and Documentation: Create and maintain a detailed list of all received samples, including: * Product Name and Description * Vendor Name * Sample Identification Mark * Quoted Price per Unit * SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) * Master Carton Packing Details (quantity per carton, dimensions, weight) * Excel-Based Reporting and Analysis: Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize data, track samples, compare vendor offers, and generate procurement reports.
