Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Sales Operations & Visual Merchandising

  • Monitor daily sales operations and staff deployment across all merchandise outlets, optimizing manpower based on skills and footfall.
  • Review point-wise and vendor-wise sales performance regularly and take corrective or growth-oriented actions.
  • Oversee store display design and implement innovative visual merchandising techniques that attract guest attention and drive impulse buying.
  • Utilize guest feedback and sales analytics to guide store layout, product positioning, and category mix for maximum conversion.
  • Engage directly in on-floor sales interactions to understand guest preferences and evaluate staff performance.
  • Identify non-moving merchandise and plan liquidation strategies such as product bundling, combo offers, and discounts to minimize dead stock.

2. Business Development & Vendor Coordination

  • Identify and collaborate with vendors, artisans, and manufacturers to source exclusive and theme-aligned merchandise for Ramoji Film City.
  • Attend trade fairs and exhibitions to stay updated on market trends and introduce fresh product categories.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Events teams to develop merchandise for corporate gifting, festive seasons, and special events.
  • Ideate and develop souvenir collections and limited-edition themed merchandise in coordination with internal creative and art departments.
  • Ensure that all merchandise reflects the parks storytelling, branding, and quality standards.

3. Procurement & Inventory Planning

  • Forecast product demand considering seasonality, footfall patterns, events, and historical sales data.
  • Plan and oversee timely procurement of merchandise while maintaining quality standards and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate with vendors for best pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms to optimize profitability.
  • Oversee internal transfers, stock replenishment, and ensure consistent product availability across all outlets.
  • Monitor prototype development, cost analysis, and rollout of final products to ensure cost-effective merchandising.

4. Warehouse & Logistics Management

  • Supervise warehouse operations, ensuring smooth inward/outward material movement, stock accuracy, and minimal damage.
  • Regularly inspect warehouse conditions, manpower efficiency, and cleanliness to maintain operational standards.
  • Monitor damage returns and vendor claims to ensure swift rectification and minimal financial loss.
  • Drive the implementation and maintenance of a centralized image bank and inventory management system for efficient tracking and replenishment.
  • Coordinate with the Stores and Purchase Departments to align stock records and inventory updates.

5. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, mentor, and monitor the performance of sales, warehouse, and merchandising staff.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as sales per outlet, stock turnover ratio, and visual compliance scores.
  • Conduct periodic training programs on sales techniques, visual display, customer service, and product knowledge.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture, ensuring staff motivation, discipline, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews and provide feedback to enhance team productivity and guest service quality.

6. Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for merchandise operations.
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales, profit margins, and expenses.
  • Implement strategies to achieve revenue growth and cost optimization.

7. Guest Experience:

  • Design and execute programs to enhance the guest shopping experience.
  • Address guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote merchandise through campaigns and events.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Retail Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or Fashion Merchandising.
  • 1015 years of experience in retail or theme park merchandising, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, tourism, lifestyle retail, or entertainment merchandising preferred.
