Head Formulation & Development

Essential Qualification :

Experience :

• 12-15 years experience in product development of Ayurvedic formulations both classic and proprietary including nutraceuticals and functional foods with 2-5 years in leadership position
• Excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Formulation Development of New Products both classical ayurvedic formulations as per formulary and proprietary medicine involving listed Ayurvedic herbs, functional foods and nutraceuticals
• Understanding of personal care formulations will be a plus
• Develop and optimize formulations using appropriate technology and scientific principles like design expert
• Ensure formulations meet regulatory guidelines and industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and achieve goals of launching products on time in full
• Take responsibility of stability studies, preparation of product development report including technical dossiers and specifications
• Prepare technical reports, presentations etc.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data to support product development
• Review and interpret scientific literature to guide project decisions
• Actively engage in professional development through attending conferences and keeping up with scientific advancements

Additional responsibilities

• Continuous improvement of the existing products
• Co-ordination with RM vendors and 3P manufacturer
• Alternate vendor development
• Bringing new age formulations forms/ technology into traditional products
• Close co-ordination with the quality team
• Scale up and technology transfer

Expected knowledge/ hands on experience

• Good Know how on Ayurvedic/ natural product formulations and therapeutic efficacy of ayurvedic/ medicinal herbs with proven track record.
• Good know how on nutraceutical and functional foods and knowledge on personal care products
• Preparing & reviewing technical documents for licensing, specifications and product dossiers
• Good communication skills and is able to communicate and interact with plant personnel on technology transfer
• Cross functional working with marketing/ quality and operations team
• Experience with various dosage forms (e.g. oral and topical)
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g. FDA, ICH, AYUSH, FSSAI)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
