Job Description

Position Summary:The Head Butler is responsible to train and supervise the hotel's butlers according to the highest standards of service and quality whilst ensuring excellent performance and guest satisfaction.

Head Butler Duties And Responsibilities

  • General Knowledge
  • To have complete knowledge on the product
  • To ensure that the company policies and processes are adhered to and continually improved
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Inform other operating departments of matters concerning to butlers operations, which concern notably the Front Office, to ensure VIP status and other such information, Housekeeping, to ensure all guests receive consistent service from all staff, in addition to communicating with Engineering, Laundry, Sales, Food & Beverage, Reservations etc.
  • Schedule and perform routine inspections by him/herself or in coordination with the supervisors, of all butler areas including occupied and non-occupied rooms.
  • Inspect guest rooms and pantries on a regular basis to ensure amenities, preferences and other such points are taken care of and carried out flawlessly.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling relevant procedures including lost and found, key control, security and emergency procedures, health and safety for employees and residents.
  • Ensure that up selling is optimized and hotel products and facilities are utilized to the utmost by all guests/residents.
  • Monitoring & Supervision
  • To co-ordinate with team fulfill guest needs and requests
  • To keep a track on all team members’ performance
  • Ensure that butlers focus on exceeding the guests’ expectations and providing proactive personalized service.
  • Direct the work assignment of supervisory and non-supervisory colleagues.
  • Monitor butlers to ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service according to standards.
  • Specific Assignments
  • Drafting policies/SOPs
  • Updating Existing policies as and when required.
  • Upkeep of all suites as per best standards
  • Maintenance of below mentioned daily checklist
  • Maintenance of Engineering related tasks
  • Maintenance of Housekeeping related tasks
  • Equipment maintenance in detail
  • Inventory list for each suite in detail.
  • Training Module to be designed for each butler
  • Weekly Duty Roster, shift allocation of staff as per the load factor

Minimum Qualification

Hotel Management Degree

Minimum Job Experience

Minimum 8–9 years of luxury hospitality experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role
