Head – Aircraft Engineering Planning

Job Purpose:-

• Review and analyze forecast of Routine and Non‐Routine maintenance tasks and Engineering; review defect history and update non-routines
• In charge of arrangement of necessary resources for efficient accomplishment of tasks and trouble shooting and rectification of defects, specially emphasizing on minimum equipment list and time limited defects and mandatory inspections
• Chair pre-input meetings, liaise with Production team to identify risks and critical tasks and find solutions
• • Liaise with Technical Services, Maintenance Program group, Configuration Management group for changes to tasks in IT tools

Team Management

• Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks by prioritizing functional and organization goals
• Support team members in collaborating across multiple internal/external stakeholders
• Support, nurture and develop the team members’ skills

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Planning Activities

• Manage all critical and mandatory tasks prior to due date and plan in Line and Light Facilities

• Oversee the cost prior to assigning Line/ Light tasks to Heavy inputs performed by MRO

• Liaise with Operations to swap airplanes to create ground times for line and hangar maintenance

• Liaise with Light Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance for Hangar slots/ support that require hangar input/ assistance, and casualty inputs

• Identify Technical discrepancies and raise Technical Occurrence Report

• Help management in developing processes based on cMRO functionalities

• Periodically review maintenance plan/ schedule against KPI to determine deviation in terms of downtime, man hours, and subsequent effect on aircraft availability

• Review work packs for resources/ tooling/ AMM references/ work conflicts, and take corrective action.

Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements

• An aircraft maintenance engineer qualification along with appropriate DGCA license or a relevant engineering degree aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics).

Experience

Minimum

• 8-10 years relevant work experience in an aviation industry of which minimum five years must be in executive level
• Practical experience in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practice

Desired

• 10-15 years relevant work experience in application of aviation safety operations
