GIS Substation O&M Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW

Need Engineers for our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department to manage the functioning of our 400KV GIS substation at Khavda Kutch. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operation of high-voltage electrical infrastructure, including substations, SCADA systems, and transmission lines.

Qualification Required :

• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical Engineering, OR
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Valid C-Licence (Electrical Supervisor License) is mandatory Experience

• Experience Required :

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operation and maintenance of GIS-type substaions
• Proven track record in high-voltage substation operations

• Technical Skills :

• In-depth knowledge of 400KV GIS substation operation and maintenance
• Proficiency in SCADA monitoring and control systems
• Understanding of transmission line operations and maintenance
• Working knowledge of protective relay systems and operations
• Experience in equipment tesing procedures up to 400KV level
• Familiarity with SLDC/WRLDC coordination protocols

• Communication :

• Proficiency in English, Gujarati, and Hindi (writen and verbal)
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
• Ability to prepare clear and concise technical report

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Maintenance

• Perform operation and maintenance activities for 400KV GIS substations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct testing of electrical equipment up to the 400KV substation level.
• Monitor and operate SCADA systems for real-time supervision and control.
• Maintain and inspect transmission line infrastructure.
• Execute relay operations and ensure protective relay systems function correctly.

Technical Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare Monthly Generation Reports (MGR) and Daily Generation Reports (DGR).
• Document breakdown reports and maintenance reports with detailed analysis.
• Maintain accurate site records and technical documentation.
• Prepare compliance and regulatory reports as required.

Planning & Coordination

• Plan and execute daily and monthly operational activities at the site.
• Coordinate with customers and address their technical requirements.
• Liaise with the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) and Western Regional Load Dispatch Centre (WRLDC) on a daily basis.
• Manage site operations in compliance with grid code requirements and safety standards.

Site Management

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and internal teams as needed.
• Ensure proper upkeep of site assets and infrastructure.
