Job Summary

The General Manager - Operations will oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of civil design and project management initiatives. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, ensure operational excellence, and manage project teams to deliver quality outcomes within stipulated timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

1.Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure project success and organizational growth.
• Oversee the allocation of resources to optimize productivity and efficiency.

2.Project Management:

• Supervise and manage multiple civil engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, and execution teams to ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
• Implement project management methodologies and tools to track progress and mitigate risks.

3.Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, designers, and project managers.
• Ensure skill development and training programs for team members to keep them updated with industry trends.

4.Stakeholder Coordination:

• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to maintain seamless communication and address project challenges.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.

5.Financial Management:

• Prepare and monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met.
• Analyze financial reports and implement corrective measures where necessary.

6.Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain quality assurance standards for design and execution phases.

7.Business Development:

• Support the business development team in securing new projects and fostering long-term client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Master’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration (preferred).

• Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the civil engineering or construction industry.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of civil design, construction methodologies, and project management tools.
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
