Role Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Government Relations to lead and manage the company’s engagement with various government stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in understanding government policies, exceptional communication skills in English, and a proven track record in government interfacing roles. This role involves India-level travel, working across ministries, departments, and public sector entities to ensure effective collaboration and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key government departments, regulatory bodies, ministries, and public sector undertakings.2. Analyze and interpret existing and proposed government policies, regulations, and legislations that impact business.3. Represent the organization in industry forums, trade bodies, and policy discussions.4. Liaise with internal stakeholders to align business practices with government policy and regulatory requirements.5. Monitor policy developments and prepare internal briefing notes and recommendations.6. Handle regulatory compliance and government approvals, clearances, and licenses.7. Ensure timely and professional responses to any government inquiries or notices.8. Drive strategic government-related initiatives to support business goals.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Qualification: Chartered Accountant (preferred).2. Experience: 5–7 years in government relations, preferably in consulting firms or industries with a government-facing function.3. Strong understanding of Indian government policies, administrative structures, and regulatory environments.4. Proven ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and negotiate effectively.5. Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.6. Willingness to travel extensively within India
