About The Opportunity

Industry: Cloud Data & Analytics / Enterprise Cloud Services. Sector: Technology — Data Engineering & Analytics. We are hiring a hands-on senior data engineer to design, build and operate large-scale data pipelines and analytics platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is an on-site role based in India.

Google Cloud Data EngineerRole & Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP using Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and BigQuery for batch and streaming workloads.
Optimize BigQuery schemas, queries, partitioning and clustering to reduce cost and improve query performance at scale.
Develop and maintain data processing code in Python and Apache Beam; ensure robust error handling, retries and idempotency.
Author infrastructure-as-code for data platforms using Terraform and integrate deployments with CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build/other tools).
Instrument monitoring, logging and alerting for pipelines and data jobs using Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver) and troubleshoot production incidents.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and product teams to translate business requirements into reliable, secure data solutions and enforce data governance/IAM policies.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

Proven experience building production data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
Strong SQL expertise with demonstrated BigQuery performance tuning and cost optimization.
Hands-on Python development for ETL and experience with Apache Beam for Dataflow jobs.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tooling (Terraform, Cloud Build or equivalent).
Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, clustering, and data governance (IAM, encryption).
Operational experience with monitoring/logging and debugging data jobs in production (Cloud Monitoring/Stackdriver).

Preferred

GCP Professional Data Engineer certification.
Experience with Airflow/Composer for orchestration and streaming analytics patterns.
Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes) or Hadoop ecosystems (Dataproc) is a plus.
