garment QC (Quality Control) professional's job is to ensure apparel products meet established standards by inspecting materials, monitoring production processes from cutting to finishing, and verifying final garments for defects, correct sizing, and buyer specifications. Key duties include fabric and trim inspection, in-process checks for stitching and construction, final audits, defect analysis, reporting, and collaborating with production teams and buyers to address quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction. Core ResponsibilitiesMaterial & Sample Inspection: Verify incoming fabrics, trims, and accessories against buyer specifications, including checking for dye lot variations, correct measurements, and quality. Production Monitoring: Conduct in-line quality control checks during cutting, sewing, and finishing stages to identify and rectify issues like inconsistent stitching, incorrect pattern matching, or poor seams. Final Inspection: Perform thorough final inspections of finished garments to confirm they meet sizing, measurement, quality, and packaging requirements before shipment. Defect Analysis & Reporting: Record and analyze defects found at each stage to identify root causes, report findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Buyer & Customer Liaison: Serve as a representative of the buyer to ensure all quality standards, technical packs, and standard operating procedures are followed. Key Skills & QualificationsTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, sewing machine operation, and finishing processes. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze quality data, identify trends, and perform root cause analysis for defects. Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail for accurate measurements and identification of even minor defects. Communication Skills: Effective communication to provide feedback to production staff, collaborate with teams, and document reports. Quality Management Systems: Knowledge of buyer quality SOPs, technical packs, and quality management principles.
