Functional Specialist

Role Overview: As a part of Aquaworks Private Limited, which is a global industrial organization under Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, you will have the opportunity to lead research activities related to nano materials for water treatment technologies. Your role will involve coordinating research activities between Marmon Water Business Units and the Marmon Water Research Center in India. You will play a key role in developing innovative solutions for the water treatment market while working in a collaborative and empowering environment. Key Responsibilities: - Research new and novel water treatment technologies using innovative materials - Lead research projects from concept to commercialization with collaboration from various business teams - Assess the feasibility and viability of different novel materials - Maintain and update a pertinent literature and patent library in collaboration with Business Unit Technical Teams - Find, review, and screen new technologies based on technical viability, potential IP position, and cost to implement - Develop technologies to a proof-of-concept stage including lab-scale technology/process studies - Oversee novel materials/nanomaterial synthesis and scale-up - Design experiments, interpret data, and document and report on all efforts - Work with business units to find, evaluate, and develop new technologies based on novel materials/nano materials - Staff and develop a high-level team to design patentable solutions and focus on water treatment solutions - Have a working knowledge of Intellectual Property processes in India and the United States - Understand user needs through the perspective of business and marketing teams and solve problems using unique technologies Qualifications Required: - Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or a closely related field - Background in the development of materials for water treatment applications preferred - Experience in technology discovery/development role in water-related field for at least 2-3 years - Proficiency in materials characterization techniques including ICP-MS, GPC, GC-MS, FTIR, SEM, TEM, TGA, extractables, and others - Ability to lead projects and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams - Self-starting, motivated, with outstanding organizational skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office tools - Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with hazardous substances - Proven track record of leading research efforts and teams - Expertise in chosen discipline including patents and publications - Presented at international academic or industrial conferences in English Additional Company Details: Aquaworks Private Limited, a part of Marmon Holdings under Berkshire Hathaway, is dedicated to developing innovative technologies in water treatment.
