Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Patient and Visitor Management: Greet patients and visitors, identify their needs, and direct them to the appropriate person, department, or service with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Communication: Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls in a timely and professional manner. Respond to email and in-person inquiries, providing accurate information about the hospital's services, timings, and procedures.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage the appointment schedule for doctors and specialists. Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments while ensuring proper coordination to minimize patient wait times.
  • Patient Registration and Records: Assist new and existing patients with the registration process. Accurately enter and update patient details, including medical history and insurance information, into the hospital's database system.
  • Billing and Payments: Handle the billing process and collect payments for consultations, diagnostics, and other services. Verify insurance details and assist patients with any billing-related questions.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties such as filing patient records, photocopying, scanning, and maintaining a well-organized and tidy reception area.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve patient queries and minor complaints calmly and professionally, escalating complex issues to the appropriate management.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with various hospital departments, including billing, administration, and medical staff, to ensure a smooth patient flow.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Education: A graduate degree in any discipline is typically required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a front office, reception, or customer-facing role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting, is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Tamil are essential for effectively communicating with patients, their families, and staff.
  • Computer Proficiency: Should be proficient in using computers and standard office software, and have the ability to quickly learn the hospital's management software.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to be compassionate and handle sensitive situations with empathy and patience is crucial.
  • Multitasking Abilities: Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and potentially stressful environment.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, representing the Kauvery Information Center positively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,999.68 - ₹25,927.32 per month
