Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Freight Broker to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for matching shippers with carriers, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and prepare rate quotations.
• Source carriers and equipment to cover freight loads.
• Monitor the status of shipments to ensure timely pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and communicate updates to customers and carriers.
• Resolve any issues or delays with shipments.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.
• Maintain records of contacts, contracts, and transactions.
• Use TMS (Transportation Management System) software for load booking and tracking.
• Meet or exceed performance metrics related to load volume, margin, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Freight Broker or similar logistics role (1+ year preferred).
• Strong book of business (preferred but not required).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with TMS platforms (e.g., McLeod, Truckstop, DAT).
• Knowledge of freight pricing and market trends.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or related field is a plus.
