About The Role

We are seeking a

Freelance Security Consultant

with hands-on expertise in securing Internal Networking and all IT products including Laptop, Desktop, Printer. The consultant will be responsible for assessing, strengthening, and monitoring our internal IT infrastructure to ensure data protection, compliance, and minimal downtime while our employees work from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current remote desktop infrastructure, VPNs, and access controls for vulnerabilities, Firewall rules.
  • Design and implement best-practice security policies for workforce operations with inhouse and remote workforce.
  • Conduct risk assessments, penetration testing, and audits to identify weak points in internal systems.
  • Advise and configure endpoint security, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Ensure secure identity & access management (MFA, least privilege, role-based access) across users.
  • Provide guidelines and training for employees on secure work-from-home practices.
  • Establish monitoring systems for suspicious logins, brute-force attempts, and lateral movement attacks.
  • Recommend and implement backup, disaster recovery, and incident response plans.
  • Keep management updated with regular reports and actionable recommendations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT Security Consulting or similar role, with focus on Security hardening.
  • Strong knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security tools, and secure remote access solutions.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune (or equivalent) or Linux based tools.
  • Practical experience with tools (e.g., Wazuh, Splunk, ELK, or similar).
  • Understanding of network segmentation, and least privilege principles.
  • Ability to work remotely, independently, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
