University:

Inserm & Vaccine Research Institute (VRI)

Country:

France

Deadline:

2025-08-22

Fields:

Immunology, Vaccinology, Bioinformatics, Clinical Science, Molecular BiologyAre you passionate about uncovering the mechanisms of immune responses to vaccines and eager to contribute to the next generation of immunological breakthroughs? If your career ambitions align with advancing the field of vaccinology and translational research, this fully funded PhD opportunity at Inserm & Vaccine Research Institute (VRI) in France could be the perfect path for you.

About The University Or Research Institute

Inserm (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale) is France’s leading biomedical research institution, internationally recognized for its pioneering work in health and medical sciences. The Vaccine Research Institute (VRI), affiliated with Inserm and located within the Institut Mondor de Recherche Biomédicale (IMRB) in Créteil, near Paris, stands at the forefront of translational vaccine research. With state-of-the-art laboratories and a collaborative academic environment, VRI offers a vibrant setting for aspiring researchers to engage in groundbreaking immunology projects.

Research Topic and Significance

The central research focus of this PhD position is the characterization of T cell receptor (TCR) and B cell receptor (BCR) repertoires in vaccine-induced immune responses following CD40-targeted immunization. The ACCELERATES Laboratory at VRI/Inserm U955, under the leadership of Prof. Godot and Prof. Lévy, is dedicated to developing innovative CD40-targeting subunit vaccines for major infectious diseases such as SARS-CoV-2, HPV, Nipah virus, and HIV-1. Understanding how TCR and BCR repertoires evolve and respond to vaccination is crucial for designing more effective vaccines and improving public health outcomes globally. This research is highly relevant in today’s context, where rapid vaccine development and immune profiling are essential tools against emerging infectious threats.
