Job Description: We are seeking a talented Flex Simulation Specialist with experience in throughput analysis, bottleneck station identification, material flow simulation, and manpower optimization using the DES (Discrete Event Simulation) tool. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills in FlexSim, Flexscript and will play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving operational efficiency, and driving cost-saving strategies. Key Responsibilities: Throughput Analysis: Conduct simulations to analyze production throughput and identify areas for improvement. Perform scenario analysis to assess potential changes in system performance. Bottleneck Identification: Identify and analyze bottleneck stations within manufacturing or production processes. Develop and propose solutions to mitigate bottlenecks and improve flow efficiency. Material Flow Simulation: Utilize DES tools to simulate material flow throughout production systems. Model the entire production process, including raw material movement, processing, and finished goods. Manpower Optimization: Analyze workforce requirements based on production demand, cycle times, and throughput. Recommend manpower allocation and scheduling solutions to optimize labor efficiency and reduce idle time. Simulation Programming: Develop and maintain FlexScripting to build, modify, and optimize simulations. Write scripts to automate repetitive tasks, enhance model accuracy, and improve the simulation process. Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to collect data and validate simulation models. Provide regular updates and reports to management on simulation results, findings, and improvement strategies. Assist in decision-making processes by providing data-driven insights. Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and assess simulation results to propose innovative solutions. Work on initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall system performance. Work Experience : 2-5 years of demonstrated experience with DES tools (such as Arena, Simul8, or equivalent). Proven track record of working with FlexScript and FlexSim for simulation programming and automation. Work Location : Chennai / Bangalore Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in FlexScript and FlexSim. Deep understanding of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) methodologies. Minimum 1 year of experience in data science roles with exposure to: AI/ML pipelines, predictive modelling, Optimization techniques or industrial scheduling Proficiency in Python, especially with: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn ortools, pulp, cvxpy or other optimization libraries, matplotlib, plotly for visualization Solid understanding of: Production planning & control processes (dispatching rules, job-shop scheduling, etc.), Machine Learning fundamentals (regression, classification, clustering) Familiarity with version control (Git), Jupyter/VSCode environments, and CI/CD principles Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills: Experience with: Time-series analysis, sensor data, or anomaly detection, Manufacturing execution systems (MES), SCADA, PLC logs, or OPC UA data, Simulation tools (SimPy, Arena, FlexSim) or digital twin technologies Exposure to containerization (Docker) and model deployment (FastAPI, Flask) Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Theory of Constraints, or Six Sigma Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to balance technical depth and business context. Excellent communication and storytelling skills to convey insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and domain knowledge.
