Solution Architect - OpsCenter MES
Role Summary: The Siemens Opcenter MES Presales and Solution Architect is a hybrid role involving technical expertise, business process understanding, and client engagement. This role is responsible for crafting tailored MES solutions using Siemens Opcenter, supporting sales teams, conducting demos/workshops, and driving customer success through well-defined solution architectures. Key Responsibilities: Presales: Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose suitable Siemens Opcenter MES solutions. Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demos, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs). Respond to RFIs, RFPs, and prepare technical sections of proposals and bid responses. Map customer manufacturing processes to Opcenter capabilities (Execution, Scheduling, Quality, etc.). Build business cases highlighting ROI and value proposition for Opcenter MES. Solution Architecture: Lead the solution design and architecture for MES projects – focusing on Opcenter Execution, Scheduling, Quality, and integration with ERP, SCADA, and PLM systems. Conduct requirements gathering, gap analysis, and fit-gap studies. Create detailed solution blueprints, functional specifications, and integration architectures. Define data models, workflows, and user interface mock-ups aligning with customer processes. Collaborate with development and delivery teams to ensure solutions are delivered per design. Technical Skills & Knowledge: Deep understanding of Siemens Opcenter Execution (Discrete or Process), Opcenter APS , Opcenter Quality , and Integration Framework . Knowledge of integration with SAP , Teamcenter , SCADA/PLC systems , and Industrial IoT platforms. Familiarity with ISA-95 , ISA-88 , B2MML , and MES architecture frameworks. Ability to model manufacturing operations, work orders, BOM, routing, quality inspections, traceability, and batch records. Working knowledge of programming/scripting (e.g., JavaScript, SQL) and web technologies is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management. Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. Consultative mindset with problem-solving orientation. Ability to lead customer workshops and drive solution consensus. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Computer Science). Siemens certifications in Opcenter MES modules preferred. Prior experience in MES implementation projects or industrial automation domains. Desirable Experience: Exposure to Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem (e.g., Teamcenter, MindSphere, NX). Experience in Pharma, Automotive, Aerospace, or FMCG manufacturing environments. Agile or Hybrid project delivery experience.
