Job Description

We are looking for a *SQL-focused Data Engineer* with strong expertise in database design, migration, optimization, and management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling end-to-end *data lifecycle management*, including extraction, transformation, and ensuring high data quality, integrity, and availability. This role is best suited for someone passionate about *relational databases* and *efficient data operations*.
***Key Responsibilities*** Design, develop, and maintain *SQL databases* with a focus on scalability, performance, and security. Perform *database migration* across platforms (on-premises to cloud or between different SQL servers). Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexes to improve *database performance*. Implement *database normalization and schema design* best practices. Develop and manage *data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes*. Maintain *data integrity, accuracy, and consistency* across systems. Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions proactively. Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions. Ensure compliance with *data security and governance policies*. Automate routine data tasks and contribute to *process improvements*. ***Required Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in *Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field*.

3–6 years* of hands-on experience in SQL database development and administration.

Strong expertise in *SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle* (as per company stack).
Experience with *database migration projects* (on-prem to cloud or cross-platform). Deep knowledge of *SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning*. Strong understanding of *data modeling, normalization, and relational database design*. Proficiency in *data extraction, reporting, and management*. Familiarity with *ETL tools* (SSIS, Pentaho, Talend, or similar). Basic knowledge of *cloud database services* ( Azure SQL, AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
