What are we looking for

We are seeking a Finance Controller with experience in B2B SaaS or high-growth startups to lead our finance controllership function. This role will be based in India, with a global finance charterspanning U.S. and India operationscovering accounting, compliance, taxation, receivables/payables, and financial controls.

This is a high-ownership role requiring a mix of controllership expertise, process rigor, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced SaaS environment serving global clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Financial Controllership & Reporting:

  Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across India and U.S. entities with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

• Accounts Receivables (A/R) & Collections:

  Drive billing, invoicing, and collections processes for U.S. SaaS customers; monitor DSO, follow-ups, and credit control.

• Accounts Payables (A/P):

  Manage vendor payments, expense controls, and reconciliation processes efficiently.

• Compliance & Taxation:

  Ensure GST, TDS, ROC, and other Indian statutory compliances; oversee U.S. tax and state-level compliance via external partners.

• Cross-Border Operations:

  Manage transfer pricing, intercompany reconciliations, and global financial workflows between India and U.S. entities.

• Process Automation:

  Implement financial systems (e.g., Netsuite, QuickBooks, Chargebee, Stripe) to scale processes as SaaS ARR grows.

• Budgeting & Forecasting:

  Support leadership in building budgets, cost analysis, and forecasting for investor updates and board reporting.

• Risk & Governance:

  Strengthen internal financial controls, risk management processes, and compliance frameworks.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  Work closely with Sales, Operations, Legal, and Product teams to align financial processes with business goals.

Job Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in controllership, SaaS finance, or startup environments.
• Strong understanding of the U.S. GAAP, Indian GAAP, and cross-border compliance.
• Hands-on experience in A/R, A/P, collections, GST, TDS, and U.S. taxation basics.
• Exposure to SaaS metrics like ARR, churn, DSO, CAC, and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Experience implementing financial tools like Netsuite, QuickBooks, or similar SaaS finance stacks.
• Ability to work independently with high ownership in a fast-scaling environment.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across global teams.
