Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller for the COO function at Lloyd's Register, you will play a vital role in the Maritime Finance Organization by ensuring timely and accurate reporting of actual financial performance. Your responsibilities include evaluating results against budget, forecasts, and prior year, as well as identifying and addressing risks and issues as they arise. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting within set timelines. - Clearly explain material variances to budget, forecasts, and prior year. - Collaborate with various teams to understand financial performance and maintain robust controls. - Follow common processes and templates in coordination with fellow controllers and the Head of Financial Accounting. - Provide insightful answers to inquiries from Maritime Finance and management, taking ownership to obtain necessary information promptly. - Act as a liaison between Maritime Finance, Statutory Compliance, GL teams, and Finance Shared Service Centre to resolve reporting and process issues. - Review and communicate risks and opportunities in the Balance Sheet to Maritime Finance. - Lead responses to audit queries related to P&L and Balance Sheet movements with clarity and reflection of associated risks. Qualifications Required: - Degree qualified with a background in management accounting/commercial accounting. - Recognized professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant experience in an international finance function. - Trusted and credible resource with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively. - Enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on approach. - Thorough understanding of a strong control framework.
