Field Service Engineer

The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar PV systems and ELV systems (CCTV, fire alarm, access control, intercom, and networking).
The role involves both technical fieldwork and coordination with clients, vendors, and KSEB for smooth service operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Solar System Installation & Commissioning

• Support the installation and commissioning of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Verify wiring, inverter configurations, grounding, and mounting structures as per approved drawings.
• Conduct performance and insulation tests before system handover.
• Ensure compliance with KSEB, ANERT, and CEIG technical and safety standards.

2. Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting (Solar)

• Perform regular preventive maintenance visits and performance checks.
• Diagnose and rectify system issues — inverter faults, wiring damages, low generation, battery failures, etc.
• Replace or repair defective components and coordinate warranty claims with suppliers.
• Maintain service reports and performance records for each site.

3. ELV Systems Installation & Service

• Install and configure CCTV surveillance systems, including IP/analog cameras, DVR/NVR units, and power supplies.
• Install access control systems, biometric attendance devices, and intercoms.
• Configure and test fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and public address (PA) systems.
• Troubleshoot ELV system issues — camera signal loss, wiring faults, device connectivity, and power issues.
• Coordinate with the IT/network team for IP configuration and remote access setup.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare service reports, inspection checklists, and commissioning certificates.
• Maintain a database of service visits, complaint history, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Record serial numbers, configurations, and warranty details for solar and ELV systems.
• Submit weekly service performance summaries to the management team.

5. Coordination with KSEB & Office Team

• Assist in KSEB inspections, synchronization testing, and net-metering procedures.
• Coordinate with the KSEB Documentation / Office Admin team for technical data submission and follow-up.
• Ensure service activities align with company documentation and compliance requirements.

6. Client Support & Training

• Attend service calls promptly and maintain professional communication with customers.
• Explain system functionality, monitoring methods, and maintenance procedures to clients.
• Provide on-site demonstrations for solar and ELV system operation.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.

7. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all electrical safety and work-at-height protocols during site work.
• Use PPE (helmet, harness, gloves, etc.) at all times.
• Ensure compliance with IS standards, KSEB, and ANERT regulations.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• ITI/ Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3-5years of experience in solar PV systems and/or ELV installations (CCTV, fire alarm, networking).
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams (SLD) and ELV layouts.
• Knowledge of networking basics, IP configuration, and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with tools like multimeter, clamp meter, crimping tools, insulation testers, etc.
• Strong communication skills in Malayalam and English.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
