Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Field Service Engineer at SMEC Automation in Mumbai. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced electrical and automation systems at client sites, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role involves hands-on technical support, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing solutions for system integration and operational issues.

Job Role Details

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced electrical and automation systems such as control panels, alarm & monitoring systems, propulsion systems, boiler control, and instrumentation at client sites for marine and industrial applications.
• Design, test, and implement electrical and automation solutions, ensuring strict compliance with international and industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, software, project management) to deliver integrated system solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical support, system integration, and user training to clients.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to installations, repairs, and compliance procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry advancements in automation, electrical systems, and control systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a closely related field.
• Solid understanding of power systems, automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Practical experience (1–3+ years) in electrical design, testing, commissioning, or servicing (freshers may be considered for junior roles with hands-on training).
• Familiarity with smart automation technologies, electrical safety codes, and relevant standards for marine and industrial sectors.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS systems, and other industrial automation software is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of national and international regulations (such as IEC, IS, marine certification bodies) for electrical and automation system compliance.
• Certifications or specialized training from SMEClabs or equivalent recognized institutions in PLC, automation, or instrumentation will be an added advantage.
