Job Summary

A Field Sales Executive in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) domain is responsible for driving sales growth, building and maintaining relationships with retailers/distributors, expanding market presence, and achieving sales targets within an assigned territory. The role is field-based with regular visits to markets, retail outlets, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Market Coverage

  • Promote and sell FMCG products (e.g., food, beverage, personal care, household goods) to retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
  • Achieve daily/weekly/monthly sales targets as assigned by management.

2. Territory & Customer Management

  • Plan and execute territory visit plans to maximize sales coverage.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and other trade partners to enhance product reach.
  • Identify new customers and market opportunities within the territory.

3. Product Display & Merchandising

  • Ensure proper product availability, stock levels, and visibility at retail counters and shelves.
  • Implement merchandising guidelines and promotional activities in stores.

4. Negotiation & Order Handling

  • Negotiate prices and terms with customers.
  • Collect orders, coordinate with logistics/operations for timely delivery, and ensure payment follow-ups.

5. Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Provide feedback and insights to management on market trends and customer needs.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports, performance metrics, and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and visits.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to close deals and maintain profitability.
  • Time & Territory Management: Plan visits effectively to cover the maximum area.

  • Self-Motivation & Target-Driven Attitude: Strong drive to achieve and exceed sales goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate (Business, Marketing, or related preferred).
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in field sales, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Technical: Basic knowledge of MS Office, reporting tools, and CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Other: Valid two-wheeler driving licence (preferred in many field roles).

Work Environment

  • Field-based role requiring regular travel within the assigned territory.
  • Interactions with retailers, distributors, and internal teams (sales, marketing, logistics).
  • May include incentives/commissions based on performance.

Career Growth

Typical progression for a Field Sales Executive in FMCG includes:
Senior Field Sales Executive → Territory Sales Manager → Area Sales Manager → Key Account / Regional Sales roles.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
