Job Description

As the Kitchen Manager, you are accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations. With your culinary talents, you will lead the staff and manage all food-related functions to deliver exceptional guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. Your role involves supervising all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced and guiding the development of staff members, including direct reports. Your responsibilities include overseeing food preparation areas such as banquets, room service, restaurants, bar/lounge, and employee cafeteria, as well as support areas like the dish room and purchasing. You will lead the kitchen management team, provide direction for day-to-day operations, and ensure that property policies are administered fairly and consistently. By setting and maintaining goals for culinary functions and activities, you will develop guidelines for purchasing and receiving areas, establish performance and budget goals, and manage department expenses effectively. You will be responsible for ensuring that culinary standards and responsibilities are met by providing direction for menu development, monitoring food quality, and maintaining compliance with food handling and sanitation standards. Additionally, you will focus on delivering exceptional customer service by supporting behaviors that exceed customer expectations, interacting with guests to obtain feedback, and empowering employees to provide excellent service. In terms of human resource activities, you will identify developmental needs, coach and mentor employees to improve their knowledge and skills, and ensure fair treatment of all kitchen associates. Your role also involves managing employee progressive discipline procedures, administering performance appraisals, and providing training on cooking fundamentals and plate presentations. Overall, you will play a crucial role in leading the kitchen operations, setting and achieving culinary goals, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing human resource activities effectively. Your dedication to upholding culinary standards, fostering a positive work environment, and delivering outstanding guest experiences will contribute to the overall success of the property.,
