Estimation & Proposal Engineer (PLC/SCADA Panels)

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Costing & Estimation:

  Expert in costing and estimation of

  Automation Panels (PLC, HMI, SCADA)

  , Instrument Panels, and Local Panels.

• Proposal Management:

  Preparing accurate quotations and sending competitive offers for various PLC/SCADA-based inquiries, utilizing knowledge of major builders (

  Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, ABB

  ).

• Technical Documentation:

  Making comprehensive

  Bill of Material (BOM)

  and

  Bill of Quantity (BOQ)

  documents.

• Compliance:

  Understanding and applying technical information on international standards, including

  IEC, IEE, ANSI, NFPA, CMRI, and PESO

  .

• Business Growth:

  Developing a growth strategy, conducting research to identify new markets, and arranging business meetings with prospective clients.

• Negotiation:

  Negotiating price, costs, delivery, and specifications with buyers and managers.

• Reporting:

  Recording sales and order information, typically using an

  ERP

  system.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in

  Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering

  , or a related field.

• Soft Skills:

  Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred candidate profile

• PLC Brand Versatility:

  Proven costing experience across multiple PLC platforms (e.g., both

  Siemens and Rockwell/Allen Bradley

  ).

• Industry Domain Experience:

  Prior experience in estimation for specific industrial domains (e.g., Oil & Gas, Pharma, or Water Treatment).

• Software Proficiency:

  Familiarity with specific estimation or costing software packages relevant to panel building.

• Tendering Expertise:

  Experience with large-scale project tendering and responding to complex RFPs (Request for Proposals).

• Commercial Acumen:

  Demonstrated track record of improving quotation turnaround time or winning ratio through effective proposal strategy.

• Certifications:

  Additional certification or deep knowledge of a specific international standard (e.g.,

  IEC 61439

  for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies).
