Role Objective

EHS Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:

    Define and drive Northstar’s EHS strategy in alignment with corporate and client objectives.
  • Compliance & Risk Governance:

    Ensure client organizations achieve and sustain compliance with Indian statutory requirements (Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, CEA Regulations) and international standards (ISO 45001/14001, OSHA, NFPA).
  • Operational Excellence:

    Lead pan-India EHS audits, risk assessments, ESG reviews, and compliance implementation across multiple sectors.
  • Client Engagement:

    Act as the primary technical advisor for CXO-level stakeholders; prepare and present Board-ready reports and recommendations.
  • People Leadership:

    Mentor and manage a distributed team of safety officers, auditors, and consultants to deliver world-class project outcomes.
  • Innovation & Digitalization:

    Drive adoption of digital safety platforms (Power BI dashboards, SharePoint, MS Teams automation) for real-time governance.
  • Training & Capacity Building:

    Develop and deliver executive workshops, statutory compliance trainings, and leadership awareness programs.

Candidate Profile

  • Education:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Safety, Environment, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety (Govt. recognized) mandatory.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH / Lead Auditor (ISO 45001/14001) certifications preferred.
  • Experience:

  • 10–15 years in EHS/ESG management within corporate or consulting environments.
  • Strong exposure to

    multi-sector industries

    (power, cement, infra, pharma, FMCG).
  • Proven record of leading corporate EHS programs and audits.
  • Core Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of Indian and global EHS frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
  • Leadership in risk governance, PTW/LOTO, fire safety, process safety, ESG disclosures.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation capabilities.
  • Tech-savvy: advanced use of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and collaboration tools.
