We are looking for a hands-on solar engineer with solid experience in utility-scale PV projects for the US market. You have strong knowledge of solar system design, electrical engineering, and grid interconnection, and you are proficient in tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVcase, or Rated Power. With a practical and detail-oriented approach, you deliver accurate, optimized designs that meet US standards and support successful project execution from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering- Utility Scale Solar Projects

• Lead the design of utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects
• Develop and review single line diagrams, site layouts with constraint mapping, and grounding studies
• Use software such as PVSyst, PVCase or Rated Power for system sizing and energy yield estimation, add on to web-based design tools will be value add 
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, UL,and others
• Manage both AC and DC system designs for large grid-connected projects, considering the concept, 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC design 
• Close coordination with client, PE ( Professional Engineer)
• Conduct site evaluations, energy assessments, and optimize complete plant layouts
• Perform energy yield analysis, power generation assessments, and loss evaluations
• Evaluate and select key components such as modules, inverters, cables, and mounting structures
• Finalize bills of materials and issue technical specifications for procurement and construction
• Perform Integration of Solar with BESS, closely work with BESS team 
• Continuously update knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices

AI and Digital Integration

• Collaborate with SunStripe’s AI and Engineering Lab to incorporate AI-driven automation and digital tools into project design and optimization

Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide technical support to business development, proposals, and investor due diligence teams
• Assist procurement with equipment selection, vendor evaluations, and technical negotiations
• Design preliminary layouts and produce permit packages aligned with client requirements and site specifics
• Coordinate with utilities and authorities having jurisdiction for permits and project approvals
• Manage communication with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality project delivery

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 4 to 8 years of focused experience in solar PV engineering for utility-scale and commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of the US market grid interconnection requirements, Zoning 7 permit guidelines and standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVcase, or comparable design and simulation software.
• Familiarity with electrical and industry standards including NEC, IEEE, UL
• Detail-oriented with excellent technical rigor and problem-solving skills.
