Job Description

As a Should Cost Engineer within the specialized team in the Supply Chain Management shared services center, you will be responsible for developing part and product cost estimates. Your work will be process-based, utilizing analytical models, and involving close collaboration with business stakeholders and subject matter experts. Your key responsibilities will include: - Building part and product costing models using internal and external sources of information - Running relevant software models to generate cost estimates - Validating cost estimates based on experience and working with subject matter experts - Analyzing Total Cost of Ownership of products - Reporting and Analytics: Having good experience in data analysis, report preparation, and presentation to senior leadership For this role, you are required to have: - Bachelor's in engineering with 6-10 years of experience in Should Costing OR Masters with 4-6 years of experience - Strong knowledge of one or two commodities like Aerospace Machining, Castings, Mechanical Assemblies - Subject Matter Expertise for one or more commodities - Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing Analysis (DFM), procurement processes, PPAP and GD&T, different types of raw materials & commodities - Knowledge of statistical tools like Regression analysis for target costing - Expertise in using should costing tools such as Costimator, aPriori, Facton, PriceSystems - Hands-on experience with CAD tools like AutoCAD, ProE, SolidWorks - Strengthening relationships with commodity managers and stakeholders - Building organizational capabilities through Training and Coaching for budding talents with Should Cost - Coordinating closely with technology, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and suppliers - Establishing & maintaining a strong knowledge management database for sourcing decisions - Ensuring projects meet their financial & operational goals (KPIs) including cost out, cost avoidance, productivity gain, and on-time & accurate deliveries - Communicating with Supply Chain teams globally regarding opportunities in alignment with commodity/category strategies - Partnering with Engineering for should-cost analysis on NPI & VAVE Projects - Strong data analytics skills to derive meaningful decisions - Managing initiatives requiring multiple cost inputs at a project level - Working collaboratively and communicating effectively globally - Strong knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) - Clear and effective communication in person, via e-mail, and over the phone - Executing activities autonomously with minimal direction - Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics - Negotiation Skills - 3D Printing knowledge - Design Thinking skills - Analytical Skills - IoT knowledge - Aptitude for Technology - Commodity Strategies - Fact pack/Gap analysis Additionally, you are expected to possess the following qualities: - Verbal & Written Communication skills - Strong sense of urgency - Customer-focused approach - Accurate working with data analysis - Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously - Quick response to deadlines - Presentation Skills - Business Communication proficiency - Decision-Making capabilities - Driven to achieve results As a Should Cost Engineer within the specialized team in the Supply Chain Management shared services center, you will be responsible for developing part and product cost estimates.
