Engineer – QA/QC (Material Inspection)

Job Role: Quality Material Inspector (Construction Industry)

Work Location: Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities

• Material Inspection & Verification
• Inspect incoming construction materials (cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, timber, etc.) against purchase orders, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper certifications, test reports, and compliance documents are provided by suppliers.
• Conduct sampling and testing of materials as per project quality plan.
• Quality Assurance & Control
• Ensure materials conform to international/national codes (e.g., ASTM, BS, IS, ACI, etc.).
• Check batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and shelf life of materials.
• Monitor storage, handling, and protection of materials to prevent damage or deterioration.
• Site Coordination
• Work with site engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve non-conformities.
• Provide feedback on rejected or non-compliant materials and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain communication with procurement and project management teams to ensure timely supply of approved materials.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain records of inspection, test results, approvals, and rejection reports.
• Prepare Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) for client/consultant approval.
• Assist in preparing Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reports and audits.
• Compliance & Safety
• Follow project quality management system (QMS) and ISO standards.
• Ensure materials are environmentally safe and comply with safety codes.
• Support sustainability and green construction practices where applicable.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, standards, and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures for concrete, soil, steel, etc.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• QA/QC certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ACI, ASNT, etc.) are preferred.
• Experience in material inspection, preferably in large-scale construction projects (infrastructure, oil & gas, buildings, highways, etc.).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
