Engineer - Mechanical

As a Functional Engineer in the Engineering Maintenance & Reliability Team at the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient department of the Manufacturing Division, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient maintenance activities in the plant while adhering to safety and GMP standards. You will support the Senior Engineer in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance tasks to ensure plant and equipment availability, capacity, integrity, and reliability in compliance with Cipla Policies. Your role also involves collaborating with maintenance personnel in the Manufacturing, Packing, and utility areas. Key Responsibilities: - Execute maintenance activities in a shift by managing available resources to achieve shift maintenance plan - Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults, and supervise equipment repairs - Schedule and execute planned preventive maintenance, calibration, and condition monitoring activities - Handle breakdown maintenance to avoid recurrence and maintain continuous process operations - Operate equipment efficiently as per SOP to meet shift targets - Perform material and spare management to avoid delays due to unavailability of materials - Maintain high levels of safety during maintenance to avoid major breakdowns and report accidents/incidents - Execute and update online documentation to meet cGMP requirements - Provide suggestions for process optimization and continuous improvement - Keep yourself updated on regulatory guidelines and undergo training on mechanical engineering & leadership aspects Additional Details: - Major Challenges include Adherence to the budget, Cost vs performance trade-off in equipment, Ageing Asset leading to escalating OpEx Cost, and Challenges around capability & competence of personnel and service providers. - Key Interactions include Central Engineering, EHS, Site head & Unit heads, OEMs, Facility maintenance contractors, and Industry Bodies for technical standards, safe operations, breakdowns, developments, quality issues, and regulatory compliance. - Education Qualification required is BE/B Tech (Mechanical) with 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing (Maintenance and Projects) and good leadership skills in mechanical engineering activities.,
