Job Description: Embedded Software Tester

Project: Testing of an insulin pump software.

Lab/Affiliation: UTSAAH Lab, CPDM, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

Remuneration: As per lab norms

Minimum Qualification: Completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Communication Engineering or similar

Skills Required: Some knowledge and experience in embedded software testing.

Teachable and eager to learn.

Independent and disciplined work ethic.

Strong communication and analytical skills.

Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools.

Familiarity with Black and White box testing.

Experience with QA best practices and proven experience performing all QA-related functions.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

Knowledge of hardware management, OS system configuration, and code debugging.

Familiarity with programming languages and development frameworks.

Experience with automation scripts and reviewing regression results.

Ability to work in an Agile team.

Experience in the medical device industry is a plus.

Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards is a plus.

Task(s): The role will consist of the following responsibilities:

Test insulin pump software products, diagnose issues, collaborate with others to find solutions, and document the results of tests.

Work on a team of testers and work with product owners, managers, and developers to ensure high-quality insulin pump software products are delivered to customers.

Use investigative skills to research and fully understand insulin pump software defects/bugs/issues before using technical skills to resolve them.

Ensure compliance with testing standards and best practices for insulin pump software.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies related to insulin pump software testing.

Duration: 3-6months.
