Embedded Firmware Engineer (0–2 Years Experience) – Job Description

Position Summary:
As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will participate in the design, development, and testing of firmware for embedded systems. You will work closely with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of embedded solutions.This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with 0–2 years of experience who are passionate about embedded systems and eager to build expertise in firmware development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and debug firmware for embedded systems using C/C++.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system specifications and ensure hardware-software integration.
• Implement new features, optimize existing code, and maintain firmware for efficiency and reliability.
• Test and troubleshoot firmware using simulation tools, hardware emulators, and on-target testing methods.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and code annotations.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
• Support production, testing, and field operations by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in embedded firmware development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in embedded firmware/software development.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded system architectures.
• Understanding of hardware-software interaction and common communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
• Experience with debugging and testing embedded systems using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Exposure to RTOS, embedded Linux, or real-time embedded platforms.
• Experience with software optimization for performance and power consumption.
• Good communication skills and ability to document technical work clearly.
