E-COMMERCE FUNCTIONAL TESTING SPECIALIST

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end functional testing of e-commerce modules: browsing, cart, checkout, payments, and order tracking.
• Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with business stakeholders before releases.
• Identify defects, log them clearly, and collaborate with the development team for resolution.
• Validate integrations with external systems such as ERP, CRM, Payment Gateways, and Logistics tools.
• Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and regression suites.
• Participate in release validation, smoke testing, and defect verification.

Business & Functional Analysis:

• Understand and map business requirements into functional test cases.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and write BRDs/FSDs.
• Translate business workflows into testable use cases.
• Ensure functional coverage across different user journeys and personas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Participate in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives to ensure QA readiness.
• Provide inputs for process improvement and quality optimization.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare detailed test summary reports and defect metrics.
• Maintain updated traceability matrices linking requirements to test cases.
• Support release readiness reviews with evidence-based validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of functional testing or QA experience in e-commerce platforms.
• Hands-on understanding of Shopify, Salesforce, WooCommerce, Magento, or custom-built systems.
• Strong knowledge of API testing, data validation, and integration workflows.
• Ability to write and manage test cases, BRDs, and UAT documentation.
• Analytical mindset with attention to functional detail and user experience.
