Job Title: Duty Manager
Department: Front Office
Reports To: Front Office Manager

Position Summary:
The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth day-to-day operations of the hotel during their shift. This role involves ensuring exceptional guest service, managing staff, handling guest complaints, coordinating with various departments, and making operational decisions in the absence of senior management. The Duty Manager serves as the main point of contact for both guests and staff during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the hotel during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure all departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, Maintenance, etc.) operate efficiently.
  • Greet and interact with guests, ensuring a high standard of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Supervise and support staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate with department heads for smooth operational flow.
  • Monitor hotel security and emergency situations, taking necessary action when required.
  • Prepare shift handover reports for incoming managers.
  • Authorize discounts, complimentary services, and special guest requests when necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of occupancy levels, VIP arrivals, and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hospitality experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of property management systems (PMS) and hotel operations.
