Role Overview

The Drone Pilot will be responsible for executing drone survey missions using DJI platforms, including LiDAR, Thermal, and Visual payloads, primarily for Transmission Line and Power Infrastructure projects. The role requires strict adherence to safety, regulatory compliance, and data quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate DJI drones for Visual, Thermal, and LiDAR survey missions
• Execute DJI LiDAR flights including mission planning, calibration, and data capture
• Conduct Transmission Line / Powerline surveys as per project scope
• Perform detailed flight planning (altitude, overlaps, corridor planning, GSD)
• Carry out pre-flight and post-flight checks and ensure operational safety
• Ensure full compliance with DGCA regulations and company SOPs
• Maintain accurate flight logs, equipment logs, and mission reports
• Coordinate with GIS and data processing teams for proper data handover
• Perform basic drone maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration
• Conduct site risk assessments and safety briefings before flight operations
• Travel to project locations as required for field operations

Required Skills & Experience

• DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC)
• Hands-on experience flying DJI drones
• Experience in DJI LiDAR flights
• Experience with DJI Thermal and Visual payloads
• Prior experience in Transmission Line / Powerline survey projects
• Strong understanding of flight planning, aviation safety, and compliance
• Basic understanding of survey and GIS workflows
• Ability to work independently in field conditions

Preferred Skills

• Experience with corridor mapping and linear infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with DJI flight planning software (DJI Pilot, DJI Terra, etc.)
• Ability to support junior pilots or field assistants
• Willingness to travel extensively for projects
