Drone Development Engineer

Key Components:-

A. Design & Development

1. Design UAV frames, propulsion systems, payload integration mechanisms, and power systems.

2. Develop and optimise flight control algorithms (PID tuning, navigation, autonomous flight).

3. Integrate avionics, autopilot systems (e.g., Pixhawk/Cube, Ardupilot, PX4), GNSS, telemetry, and sensors.

B. Prototyping & Testing

1. Build, assemble, and calibrate drone prototypes.

2. Conduct ground tests, flight trials, and endurance/performance validation.

3. Debug hardware/software integration issues and propose improvements.

C. Systems Integration

1. Work on payload integration: EO/IR cameras, LiDAR, SAR, weaponisation (for defence), or delivery mechanisms.

2. Develop communication links (RF, 4G/5G, Satcom) and ensure secure data transmission.

3. Collaborate with AI/ML team for autonomy, object detection, and anti-drone systems.

D. Production Support

1. Translate R&D prototypes into scalable production-ready designs.

2. Document designs, test results, and compliance reports.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop technical documentation and provide training on drone operation and maintenance procedures.
  
• Conduct flight testing and debugging to ensure optimal performance and reliability of drone systems.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for aerodynamic design, propulsion system integration, and flight control systems.
  
• Design, develop, test, and integrate drones from concept to production.
  
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in drone technology.
  

Desired Candidate Profile

• 1-4 years of experience in drone development or related fields (aerospace engineering, aviation).
  
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, flying techniques, and solid works principles.
  
• Proficiency in Simulink programming language for modeling and simulation purposes.
  
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as B.Tech/B.E. Aviation or B.Tech/B.E. Electrical.
