About The Opportunity
Healthcare — tertiary cardiac care & multispecialty hospital services operating in the Northeast region of India. We provide end-to-end cardiology diagnosis, interventional therapy and critical cardiac care to patients across Assam and neighbouring states, combining evidence-based clinical practice with a patient-centred approach.
Primary Title:
Consultant Cardiologist (DM/DrNB)Location: Tezpur, Assam — On-site role delivering high-quality cardiology services in an active outpatient, inpatient and cath lab environment.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide consultative cardiology care across OPD, IPD and cardiac ICU: evaluate, diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests including ECG, TTE/TEE and exercise testing; lead clinical decision-making for patient management.
- Undertake cath-lab duties where applicable: support/perform diagnostic coronary angiography and assist/intervene in PCI programs consistent with experience.
- Lead STEMI and acute coronary syndrome pathways — triage, stabilization, reperfusion decisions and post-procedure care to optimise outcomes.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (anesthesia, cardiac surgery, nursing) to plan procedures, manage complications and deliver continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to quality improvement, participate in teaching of junior doctors and support audits / clinical governance activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- DM Cardiology or DrNB Cardiology qualification with valid medical registration in India.
- 2+ years post-PG clinical experience in cardiology (includes acute care/cardiac ICU exposure).
- Proven competency in ECG interpretation, transthoracic echocardiography and management of ACS/STEMI pathways.
Preferred
- Experience working in a cath lab environment (diagnostic angiography/PCI) or exposure to interventional cardiology protocols.
- Prior experience in a tertiary-care hospital, teaching role or participation in clinical audits / research.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation and ability to mentor junior clinicians and nursing staff.
