We are seeking a Linux-first Cloud Administrator & Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based environments to ensure high availability, security, and scalability. This role involves working closely with our development and IT teams to support our cloud infrastructure's ongoing needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Administer and manage cloud-based infrastructure services, including compute, storage, network, and security components.
2. Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, including managing IAM roles, security groups, and ensuring data protection.
3. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient operation of cloud infrastructure.
4. Collaborate with development teams to automate and streamline operations and processes for deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
5. Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and fail over procedures.
6. Stay current with industry trends, make recommendations for improvements, and participate in the planning and implementation of new cloud technologies.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding cloud infrastructure and related technologies.

Qualifications:

1. 8+ years of experience in system administration, with a very strong focus on at least one (preferably two) of cloud environments - AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
2. 5+ years of hands-on experience in setting up Linux (Ubuntu) based server environments, including Apache, MySQL, and OpenVPN.
3. Strong understanding of cloud services, networking concepts, and cloud security principles.
4. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
5. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for the automation of tasks and operations.
6. Advanced experience with Docker, including containerization of applications, managing Docker images, and orchestrating containers using Kubernetes or similar technologies to enhance deployment processes and environment consistency.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively internally as well as with customers.
9. Experience setting up VMware and integrating SSO systems such as ADFS, Okta, SAML is a plus.
10. Proficient in using software configuration management tools such as Puppet for automating server setup and management.
11. Strong experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub, to manage code changes and collaboration.
12. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a must.
