Job overview and responsibilities The United IT team designs, develops and maintains massively scaling technology solutions that are brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics and digital solutions. Our PSS-team is responsible for developing and maintaining our Passenger Service System (PSS), which is the heart of any airline and runs mission-critical and highly complex modules such as Seats, Inventory, Reservations, and the Day-of-Departure customer processes! Our team is building new PSS system using the latest digital technologies and digital infrastructure to provide our customer the best digital experience in the industry. We have a Data Integration Developer role open that will focus on developing and supporting programs that integrate our Passenger Service Systems (PSS) with internal and external entities and our Global Distribution Services (GDS) partners. The developer will work with counterparts in the U.S. to leverage technologies like IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise), Java, ESQL, MQ (Message Queue), and modern container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker to streamline and manage these integrations with minimal supervision. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues, opportunities or problems in order to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments. Develop and support integration programs using IBM ACE, MQ, Java, ESQL, and container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) to connect PSS systems with internal and external entities. Implement automated testing processes and work with container CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing and deployment efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and deliver solutions using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Perform backend testing (API, Mainframe, Middleware) and validate system interactions. Support production deployments, including working off-hours and during CST hours as required Monitor and maintain the performance of integration programs, ensuring reliability and high availability. Document integration processes, configurations, and solutions for knowledge sharing and ease of maintenance. This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc. Qualifications What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree B. Tech. in Computer Science or related area of study 5+ years of relevant experience in integration development and systems At least 5 years of experience with strong knowledge of IBM ACE/IIB development, including ESQL, Java, and integration patterns. Hands on experience with web services (SOAP/REST) and related technologies. Experience with various data formats (XML, JSON, EDIFACT, Teletype, DFDL etc.) and transformation techniques. Understanding of message-oriented middleware (MQ), Solace and related technologies. Ability to work with distributed teams and under time constraints to meet deadlines. Experience with databases such as SQL or Oracle Experience working with international teams or clients in a multinational setting What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): Master's Degree 1-2 years of experience in the airline industry is preferred Knowledge in Shell Scripting Exposure to ODM (Operational Decision Manager). Familiarity with Harness, or similar CI/CD tools. AWS Cloud knowledge and experience with Containers, dockers, Kubernetes. Familiarity with Monitoring Tools as Dynatrace Experience with Linux/UNIX
