Role Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to ensure the development of innovative, high-quality products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of creativity, a deep understanding of fabric, pattern making, and garment construction, with a solid background in lingerie or intimate apparel design. The Design Manager will be responsible for managing the design process from conceptualization to production, ensuring that designs meet the brand's aesthetic, quality standards, and target market needs.

Location: Coimbatore

Working Hours: 9 am to 6 pm (Mon-Sat)

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead and manage the design team to create stylish, functional, and market-leading collections that align with the brand’s vision and target market.

● Oversee the design process from conceptualization, sketching, and fabric selection to final production, ensuring that each product meets quality, fit, and comfort standards.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing, marketing, and production, to ensure designs are manufacturable, on-brand, and on-trend.

● Manage and maintain the seasonal design calendar to ensure timely completion of design concepts, samples, and production deadlines.

● Conduct market research and trend analysis to keep up with the latest styles, materials, and innovations in the lingerie industry.

● Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering creativity and professional growth within the team.

● Develop and maintain a deep understanding of consumer preferences, competitor products, and emerging trends in the intimate apparel market.

● Work closely with the sourcing and production teams to ensure that designs can be produced efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining product quality.

● Manage the preparation and presentation of design concepts, mood boards, and prototypes to senior management and other stakeholders.

● Ensure the accurate and timely production of technical specifications, patterns, and sample reviews.

● Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fabric vendors, and manufacturing teams to source the best materials and production methods.

Key Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. Master’s degree or additional certifications are a plus.

● 12+ years of experience in lingerie or intimate apparel design, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

● Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in lingerie design, including bras, panties, shapewear, and sleepwear.

● Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD etc).

● Strong understanding of fabric types, garment construction, fit, and manufacturing processes specific to intimate apparel.

● Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong organizational and time management skills.

● A creative and trend-driven mindset, with a keen eye for detail and quality.

● Strong knowledge of the latest trends in lingerie, fashion, and consumer preferences.

● Candidate should be open for travelling Preferred Skills:

● Experience in 3D design and prototyping software.

● Knowledge of sustainability practices within the lingerie industry.

● Familiarity with global lingerie market trends and international manufacturing standards.
