Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Design Engineer with deep expertise in designing Hydraulic Power Packs (HPP) and Hydraulic Cylinders for diverse applications such as bollards, road blockers, boom barriers, industrial machines, and heavy-duty automation systems. The candidate will be responsible for complete design, calculations, component selection, 3D modeling, prototyping support, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Hydraulic Power Pack Design

• Design compact, efficient, and application-specific hydraulic power packs.

• Perform flow, pressure, motor sizing, pump selection, and heat dissipation calculations.

• Selection of hydraulic components: pumps, valves, manifolds, filters, accumulators, pressure switches, etc.

• Develop hydraulic circuits (open loop, closed loop) using standards like ISO.

• Prepare detailed 3D models & manufacturing drawings for tanks, manifolds, frames, and assemblies.

• Design HPPs for heavy-duty duty cycles (24×7), outdoor installations, low-noise operation, and high reliability.

2. Hydraulic Cylinder Design

• Design single-acting, double-acting, telescopic, and custom hydraulic cylinders.

• Perform stroke-length, bore-size calculations, buckling calculations, pressure rating, rod selection, and seal selection.

• Design cylinder mounting (clevis, trunnion, flange, foot mount, etc.).

• Material selection based on load, speed, and environmental conditions.

• Prepare machining drawings for tubes, pistons, rods, end caps, and mounting brackets.

3. 3D Design & Drafting

• Create detailed 3D assemblies, exploded views, motion studies, and tolerance-based manufacturing drawings.

• Software expertise (any): SolidWorks / Inventor / Creo / AutoCAD.

• Release BOM, DXF files, GD&T, welding drawings, surface finish, and machining parameters.

4. Prototyping & Testing Support

• Work closely with fabrication & assembly teams during prototype development.

• Assist in testing pressure, leakage, flow rate, endurance, and performance.

• Troubleshoot issues related to temperature rise, noise levels, pressure drop, or cylinder leakage.

5. Documentation & Standards

• Prepare hydraulic schematics, design reports, and test reports.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards: ISO, DIN, SAE.

• Document calculations, drawings, revisions, and specifications.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Electrical & Control Engineers for integration of hydraulic sensors and control logic.

• Work with procurement to finalize vendors for pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, and accessories.

• Provide technical support to sales, product development, and customer teams.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic system design, fluid mechanics, and industrial hydraulics.

• Expertise in designing Power Packs (gear / vane / piston pump based).

• Deep experience in Hydraulic Cylinder design and seal kits.

• Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling & 2D detailing.

• Strong analytical skills, mathematical calculations, and problem-solving ability.

• Knowledge of material science, machining processes, and fabrication.

• Understanding of industrial applications such as barrier systems, bollards, presses, lifting systems, heavy machines, etc.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).

• Specialized course/certification in Hydraulics is an advantage.

• Minimum 3 years hands-on design experience in hydraulic systems.
