Role Overview

Design Engineer – Cockpit

Key Responsibilities

• Design & develop cockpit interior trims – Instrument Panel, Floor Console, CCB.

• Provide CAD support and manage design activities as per program timelines.

• Ensure CAD data accuracy and maturity levels at all project stages.

• Good knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes & feasibility checks.

• Basic understanding of DFMEA, DVP, DFA/DFM.

• Conduct DMU reviews for system & environment.

• BOM creation and data management in NPDM / NX-PDM.

• Prepare 2D drawings and drafting of assemblies/components.

• Handle geometry, packaging, process, and manufacturability constraints.

• Prepare technical presentations, highlight issues, and propose solutions.

• Apply GD&T and adhere to customer design standards.

• Work on CATIA/NX (Surface, Solid, Drafting).

• Ensure all project deliverables are completed with proper documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 3–7 years of automotive engineering experience in cockpit system/component design.

• Strong experience in CATIA V5/V6 and PLM (TCE).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of:

✓ Cockpit manufacturing requirements (tooling & design)

✓ IP, Floor Console, CCB design & development

✓ Cockpit system regulations (added advantage)

• Proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

• Experience working with global OEM cross-functional teams (preferred).

• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and problem-solving ability.
