Deputy Project Manager

Job Summary

The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) in Civil Construction supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing civil construction projects from inception to completion. The DPM ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. The role involves managing subcontractors, liaising with clients and consultants, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in the overall planning and execution of construction projects.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Supervise site activities and ensure that work is progressing as per project schedules.
• Monitor project milestones, resource planning, and budget tracking.
• Ensure quality control and health & safety compliance on site.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, drawings, permits, and material approvals.
• Manage procurement and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
• Resolve site issues and technical challenges in coordination with engineering and design teams.
• Ensure adherence to all statutory and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Diploma holders with extensive experience may be considered).
• Minimum [5–8] years of experience in civil construction, including 2+ years in a leadership or coordination role.
• Proven experience in infrastructure, residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Familiarity with local construction laws, safety regulations, and quality standards.
