Job Description

Deputy Manager – Planning QS

Roles Responsibilities

  • Project Planning Scheduling:
  • Prepare detailed project schedules using MS Project or Primavera.
  • Track project progress, update schedules, and highlight deviations.
  • Coordinate with execution teams to ensure timely delivery as per plan.
  • Assist in developing work breakdown structures (WBS) and resource planning.
  • Quantity Surveying Cost Management:
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates based on drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor actual vs. estimated quantities and highlight variances.
  • Assist in vendor rate analysis, negotiation, and finalization.
  • Billing Certification:
  • Prepare RA (Running Account) bills and final bills for contractors.
  • Verify subcontractor and vendor bills based on actual work done.
  • Coordinate with the accounts team for timely bill processing and payments.
  • Budgeting Cost Control:
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and tracking actual costs.
  • Maintain cost records and prepare cost reports for internal review.
  • Identify and suggest cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Documentation Reporting:
  • Maintain all QS and planning-related documents.
  • Prepare and submit periodic MIS reports for project performance.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements.

Key Skills Required

  • Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera / Excel
  • Strong knowledge of estimation, billing, and contract management
  • Good understanding of construction methods and drawings
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and good communication skills

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Civil EngineeringPostgraduate qualification in Construction Management (preferred but not mandatory)
