Job Description

 
The Field Service Regional Manager is responsible for leading and managing field service operations across assigned railway zones, ensuring the effective execution of maintenance contracts, field trials, and technical support for rolling stock systems for Indian Railway and Metro Customers. This role is pivotal in driving service excellence, customer satisfaction, and operational reliability in coordination with Manufacturing units & Railway Workshops, depots, and zonal railways.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee execution of maintenance contracts at customer sites, ensuring compliance with scope, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Lead regional service teams for troubleshooting, retrofitting, and warranty support of railway systems,
  • Coordinate field trials of new components, monitor performance, and provide feedback for engineering validation.
  • Ensure timely resolution of field failures through root cause analysis, technical reporting, and coordination with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with zonal railway officials, depots, maintenance sheds and Railway Production units to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) , Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and contribute to strategic planning for service improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to Wabtec safety standards & promote a safety-first culture across all field teams .Conduct audits and implement corrective actions for non-compliance.
  • Support training and skill development of field technicians and service engineers
  • Manage workforce planning and deployment across sites.
  • Ensure adherence to railway safety standards, RDSO guidelines, and company policies

Education/Training

  • Bachelor s degree in mechanical / electrical / Electronic Engineering;

Experience

  • 12-15 years of experience in field service or maintenance operations within the railway industry Preferably in Railway industries

Competencies

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with railway maintenance schedules (IOH, POH), RDSO guidelines, and Railway Board protocols
  • Proficiency in service documentation, ERP systems, and failure analysis tools
  • Proven experience in managing maintenance contracts and service teams in Railway Industries
