Job Description

Job Summary:

Database Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for production and development databases
Monitor database performance and tune configurations for optimization
Handle database incidents, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution
Perform routine maintenance tasks including backups, restores, and upgrades
Create and maintain scripts for automation of regular database tasks
Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database-related issues
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal and external regulations
Support high availability, disaster recovery, and replication configurations
Maintain detailed documentation for procedures, configurations, and support guides

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus
Exposure to cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
Understanding of database security, user roles, and access controls
Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PowerShell
Certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, AWS Database Specialty)
