Database Manager- Events & Magazine

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Database Manager to oversee the design, maintenance, integrity, and security of our organizations databases, which support both our magazine publishing and event management operations. This pivotal role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams (editorial, sales, marketing, and events) to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and leveraged effectively for targeted campaigns, operational efficiency, and business intelligence

Key responsibilities

Database management: Design, develop, and maintain event databases to store and organize data on clients, vendors, attendees, and event specifics. Need to work on data label printing for monthly magazines

Data integrity and security: Implement procedures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security, including backups, disaster recovery plans, and access controls.

Data analysis and reporting: Process, clean, and integrate data from various sources. Analyse data to provide insights on event performance, attendee behaviour, and budget tracking.

Collaboration: Work with event managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure the database supports strategic goals.

Technical support: Provide technical support to event staff for database-related issues and help develop data-driven applications that interface with the database.

Event calendar management: Maintain an events calendar within the database to prevent overlaps and manage deadlines effectively.

Required skills and qualifications

• Strong technical skills in database management systems, data modelling, and data analysis tools.
  
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  
• Proficiency with database management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  
• MIS Business Reporting.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and users.
  
• Knowledge of event planning concepts and processes is a plus.
  
• 2 to 5 years of experience as database manager from event / magazine media agencies
