About the Role:

As a DBA at 84.51°, you will manage and optimize databases that power our analytics and decision-making. You’ll ensure our data systems are secure, reliable, and high-performing to support business and data science teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Databases:
Design, maintain, and support highly available databases for key applications.
Optimize Performance:
Monitor and tune databases to fix slow queries and improve efficiency.
Ensure Security:
Apply best practices to protect data and meet compliance standards.
Backup & Recovery:
Create and manage backup and disaster recovery plans.
Collaborate:
Work closely with data engineers, scientists, and developers to improve performance and support projects.
Automate:
Use tools to automate database monitoring, deployment, and maintenance.
Document:
Keep clear documentation of database systems and processes.
Stay Current:
Learn and recommend new database tools and technologies.
Support:
Provide advanced support for database issues and perform upgrades/patching.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a DBA (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL).
2+ years of hands-on Snowflake Administration (preferably on Azure).
Strong skills in SQL and scripting.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Knowledge of database architecture, indexing, and query tuning.
Familiarity with data governance (GDPR, CCPA).
Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks).
Knowledge of automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, SnowPro Administrator).
