Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Data Protection Officer (DPO) based in Mumbai. The DPO will oversee data protection strategies and ensure the organization complies with regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include managing data privacy frameworks, advising on legal obligations, developing privacy policies, and conducting assessments for compliance with privacy laws. The role involves close collaboration with various teams to integrate privacy considerations into business operations and ensure regulatory adherence.

    5+ years total, with at least

    3+ years in Data Privacy

  • Locations:

    Mumbai, Gujarat, and Bangalore



Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for data protection and privacy compliance within client organizations.
  • Ensure adherence to global privacy frameworks (GDPR, DPDP Act, CCPA, etc.).
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and privacy risk assessments.
  • Implement and monitor privacy compliance programs and policies.
  • Liaise with legal, IT, security, and compliance teams to ensure end-to-end privacy governance.
  • Provide training, awareness, and advisory support on data protection obligations.
  • Maintain records of data processing activities and handle data subject rights requests.


Qualifications

  • Expertise in Data Privacy, Privacy Compliance, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Knowledge of Privacy Policies and their development
  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks and experience in Law related to data protection
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, or a related field
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DPDPA) is a significant advantage
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Certifications such as CIPP/E or other privacy-related credentials are a plus
