, invites applications for a non-regular position to design and teach Indigenous Entrepreneurship Micro-Credential program as outlined below

Duties:

The instructor will facilitate learning and is responsible for ensuring student success by designing and teaching the following courses within the Indigenous Entrepreneurship Micro-Credential program, in both face-to-face and online settings.

Courses Include

  • Indigenous Business Foundations
  • Financial Literacy & Funding Opportunities
  • Marketing and Digital Branding
  • Business Planning & Operations
  • Sustainable Business Models

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or master's degree in education, Curriculum and Instruction, Indigenous Studies, Business or a related field along with a recognized teaching degree or equivalent credential. A Provincial Instructor’s Diploma or other relevant teaching certification and related experience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Require Skills/abilities Include

  • Demonstrated ability to create content in a learning management system such as D2L/Brightspace and expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles, with the ability to create culturally responsive and engaging learning materials.
  • A deep understanding of Indigenous business practices is essential, including both on- and off-reserve entrepreneurship, taxation, and the complexities of Indigenous economic development.
  • Proven experience working respectfully and collaboratively with Indigenous communities, organizations, and learners, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to Indigenous worldviews, cultural protocols, values, and traditions.
  • Experienced teacher or facilitator, skilled in engaging adult learners in both in-person and online environments.
  • A collaborative, community-centered approach to curriculum design, co-creating and adapting materials to reflect the diverse contexts of Indigenous learners while ensuring that all course content remains grounded in Indigenous perspectives and priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a collaborative team environment
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary practices to promote and respect equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, learning and professional contexts
  • Demonstrated excellence with intercultural competence, particularly in regard to local Indigenous communities
  • Advanced computer skills and digital literacy
